Students enter our schools each day carrying the burden of stress, trauma, conflict, and even physical stressors.
They are expected to come in, interact in a micro-community for 6 to 8 hours a day, and learn without skipping a beat. Our teachers come in with their own life issues, offering lessons all the while with the increasing pressure to make our students perform to tests and standards. And we wonder why it’s a challenge to come out of the day having learned anything when our minds and our nervous systems may take hours just to settle in!

By implementing some mindset coaching techniques in our classrooms, we can learn to help our students and our teachers manage stressors more effectively, opening up areas in our brain that will help us retain information in more effective ways, and helping to reduce conflict and burnout for everyone. Imagine what it would look like to know that your teachers can understand and address when students are stuck in emotional dysregulation and know how to bring them quickly back toward the lesson. Imagine if teachers understood how to lessen the impact of unseen obstacles on learning,
allowing students to focus and thrive.
Imagine fewer student outbursts or visits to the office after things have escalated out of control. Imagine classrooms where students’ emotional needs are being met so they feel safe to let down their guard and focus on the lesson at hand. Connect with Amy today to make these a possibility for your schools, teachers, and students.

Meet Amy
My name is Amy Burton, and I am a Life and Mindset Coach and Educator. Over 24 years ago I began my journey as a high school teacher and fell in love with learning and helping others broaden their mind through education. It was challenging and fulfilling and maddening all at the same time! The struggle of being a teacher in our public schools is always full of complexities and challenges.
I know firsthand what it’s like to see our students struggle to engage, emotionally dysregulate, and have trouble focusing, and this is why I speak to educators. My goal is to empower educators so that we can reduce teacher and student burnout by lowering stressors in the classroom and create a healthier environment for all.
Wouldn’t that be amazing? When I am not speaking you can find me performing with my local community theater, or fishing on the river in Alaska. I look forward to connecting and being a part of your next event so that together we can create a school environment that supports everyone in it!

How unconscious Bias affects our classrooms and student Success... and what to do about it
Educators will learn to recognize their own unconscious biases and their impact on the classroom and student success. They will explore strategies to shift perspectives, implement safeguards for an inclusive learning environment, and anticipate challenges that may arise. Additionally, they will gain practical tools to navigate and overcome these obstacles effectively.
They will leave with techniques to help them create more equitable classroom systems for all learners, leading to better student success. Includes a handout and a toolkit for educators.

Using Curiosity to Deescalate Stressful Situations
Educators will learn why stressful situations in the classroom often get out of hand and why the strategies we’ve tried in the past don’t always work. They will identify why their own response matter, understand what practicing neutrality can help them achieve, and learn to use curiosity to deescalate potential conflict quickly.
They will leave feeling more confident to be able to manage their own classrooms in a calm and positive way. Includes a handout and a toolkit for educators.
Creating Realistic Self Care Routines to Prevent Teacher Burnout
Educators will learn why self-care is not only non-negotiable to their career but is possible to fit into any schedule in realistic and doable ways. They will identify the benefits of an educator who practices a balanced mental health routine to their classroom.
They will discover why self-care habits lead to a significantly less burn out rate in the long term and leave with great ideas on how to fit in some easy and effective ways to practice it even within small windows of time. Includes a handout and a toolkit for educators.
